Questions about official Polk County criminal records must go to the government office that maintains the requested item. The routes below separate Sheriff incident and booking files from court cases at the Clerk's office in Columbus and fingerprint history held by the North Carolina SBI.

This Is Not a Government Office. This private reference site cannot retrieve, correct, or remove a criminal record. It cannot conduct an official check or accept a North Carolina expunction filing.

Need an Official Record?

Send the request to the custodian that created or maintains the record:

  • City police reports: contact Tryon, Columbus, or Saluda Police when that department created the report
  • Personal state history: follow the North Carolina SBI fingerprint-based Right to Review process
  • Current custody: use the Sheriff-linked inmate list or call the Detention Center
  • Expunction filings: file with the Clerk in the county where the charge or conviction occurred
